Career History for Brett - owner of Business Coach NZ Ltd
The following is a brief outline of my previous career experience before becoming a business mentor.
Originally I started my career as a trade qualified engineer who also completed a New Zealand Certificate in Engineering Production, specialising in Industrial engineering techniques in the applications of lean, quality management control systems and process design. I then went on to obtain a bachelor's in business studies. After many years of putting health and safety systems in various businesses I decided to obtain a formal qualification in health and safety. I have also completed a number of short courses on sales techniques, team building and motivation, leadership and management.
I worked my way up through project engineering, project and contract management roles running up $18 million in construction and civil projects. Through to operational and regional manager roles and finally General management and board member roles.
I have had 25 years of experience in senior management roles, coaching and mentoring staff at all levels, implementing lean, quality, health and safety and continuous improvement systems across businesses taking them to international ISO 9001 accreditation. I have written and implemented many strategic, business, sales and marketing plans. Grown businesses through innovation and exporting including my own manufacturing business which exported uniquely New Zealand made products to various countries around the world. With 18 years experience in the construction/civil industry delivering on large infrastructure projects and specialist construction projects, I understand this sector well. With a further 17 years in engineering/manufacturing and logistics across various industries, I have a very good grasp on what makes a successful product. Working for a number of years for the world’s largest Recruitment Company as an executive recruiter makes me well placed to help businesses in recruitment.

Career History for Cynthia - owner of Business Coach NZ Ltd
My business partner is a qualified accountant with a bachelor degree in accounting and finance. She has spent 10 years as a company accountant and a further 20 years as a Senior Accountant for Chartered Accountancy firms. She has dealt with a multitude of different companies from all sectors and helps them with running their finances and teaching them how to take care of the money side of their business.
